If you are looking up how to watch IPTV on a phone or a Samsung TV in Maryland, IPTV Smarters is a name that turns up in guide after guide. Search for it, though, and the name splits apart: the developer’s current app is called Smarters Pro, older listings carry the original name under a different company, and a long list of apps from unrelated publishers use “Smarters” in their titles.
This page follows the name from the original app to its current version, sets out what the developer states, and shows which Smarters apps are not its own. For how players like this fit the wider category, see our guide to IPTV apps and how to check one.
IPTV Smarters is a media player, not a TV service. The original IPTV Smarters Pro listing was ordered off Google Play by a Spanish court in 2022. Today’s Smarters Pro is published on Google Play by Tech Smarters Private Limited, whose website says it sells no subscriptions or content. Older listings under the original names belong to WHMCS Smarters, and many other apps using “Smarters” come from unrelated publishers.
What IPTV Smarters Is
Whichever version someone means, the official listings reviewed for this page describe it the same basic way: as a player that needs a source from somewhere else.
A Player, Not a TV Service
The developer’s Smarters Pro website states that the app does not provide, sell or distribute any media content or streaming services, and that it is strictly a media player for content users have obtained themselves. Its installation notes repeat the point in plainer terms: the company does not provide or sell subscriptions, streams or content, and describes itself as a software development company.
The Smarters Pro listing on Google Play adds that the app does not endorse or facilitate unauthorized streaming. The site lists M3U among the playlist formats it supports, along with multiple playlists, favorites and parental controls.
So IPTV Smarters is not itself an IPTV service; it has no channels of its own. What appears on screen depends on the source a viewer adds.
What Premium Covers
Smarters Pro offers a premium upgrade. The developer’s site states that upgrading adds enhanced features and functionality only, and does not include access to any media content, streaming service or content subscription of any kind. This site does not publish prices.
From IPTV Smarters Pro to Smarters Pro
The name people search for and the name on the current app are no longer the same. Two company names appear along the way, and the record shows listings and publishers at different times rather than a documented handover between them.
The Name on Samsung’s Store: WHMCS Smarters
Samsung publishes some of its TV app listings on the web. Two of them carry the original name: “IPTV Smarters” and “IPTV Smarters Pro”, both attributed to WHMCS Smarters. Their descriptions state that IPTV Smarters does not supply or include any media or content and has no affiliation with any third party.
The same listings add a detail that explains a common frustration. They tell services that they must register their server address with WHMCS Smarters for the app to work with their customers. On Samsung, then, whether the app works with a given service depends partly on a step taken by the service, not only by the viewer.
What Happened to the Original Google Play Listing
Smarters Pro is on Google Play today, published by Tech Smarters Private Limited. What disappeared was the original IPTV Smarters Pro listing, and two separate events are reported.
In January 2023, TorrentFreak reported that a court in Madrid had ordered Google to remove IPTV Smarters Pro from the Play Store following a complaint by LaLiga, with the order dated December 22, 2022.
The second event is separate. In March 2026, Indian trade press reported that the broadcaster JioStar had secured the removal of 36 IPTV apps from Google Play and Apple’s App Store during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, naming IPTV Smarters Pro among them. The report said the apps had been used to distribute unauthorized streams of the broadcaster’s cricket coverage.
Neither report concerns the current Smarters Pro listing; together they explain why searches for the original one lead nowhere.
The Current Smarters Pro Listing
The developer’s current product is called Smarters Pro. Its Google Play listing names Tech Smarters Private Limited, with an address in Mohali, Punjab, India, and a support address on the smarterspro.com domain. The website links to separate Google Play apps for Android phones and Android TV, to an App Store app for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, and to a Samsung TV app.
The site also asks Samsung users to check that the seller shown in the TV’s store is TECH SMARTERS PRIVATE LIMITED before installing, a direct instruction to read the publisher line rather than the app name.
What Can Be Verified About the Publisher
Two documented details connect the names. The web player that smarterspro.com links to is hosted at an address on the iptvsmarters.com domain. And the App Store listing for Smarters Player Lite, published by WHMCS Smarters, uses the same description and the same compliance statement as Tech Smarters’ Smarters Pro listing on Google Play, word for word.
Those are textual and technical links, not a statement of ownership. None of the public pages reviewed for this page states the relationship between WHMCS Smarters and Tech Smarters Private Limited, so this page does not assume one.
For a viewer, the practical point is narrower. The current app from the developer’s own website is Smarters Pro by Tech Smarters Private Limited, and that is the publisher line to look for.
Smarters Pro and Smarters Lite
A second name sits alongside Smarters Pro. On Apple’s App Store, Smarters Player Lite is published by WHMCS Smarters. It describes itself as a standalone media player that does not provide, host, sell or promote any content, channels or streaming services, and it points to terms of use on iptvsmarters.com.
The Lite name has look-alikes of its own. A separate App Store listing called IPTV Smarters Player Lite is published by SMART WIDGET LABS COMPANY LIMITED, and a Google Play listing named Smarters Player Lite comes from another publisher again. As with every Smarters name, the publisher line is what separates them.
Where Smarters Pro Runs
The developer’s website lists its platforms directly, and they differ in how settled they are.
Android Phones and Android TV
Smarters Pro is on Google Play as two apps, one for Android phones and one for Android TV, both linked from the developer’s site.
iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV
The site links a single App Store app for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, and its FAQ confirms Apple TV compatibility.
Samsung, LG, and Computers
The site lists a Samsung TV app, with the seller-name check described above, and marks the LG version as not yet available. It offers Windows and macOS versions labeled beta, distributed through Google Drive links rather than an app store, and a browser-based web player. The site also notes that the app is not available in India, citing business strategy and regional compliance.
Fire TV
The site’s installation section includes a Fire TV Stick tab, and the Android TV version is an Android app. Fire TV, however, now spans devices using different operating systems. PCWorld reports that Amazon’s Vega OS runs on the 2025 Fire TV Stick 4K Select and the 2026 Fire TV Stick HD, and Vega does not run Android apps, so check which system a specific model runs.
Smarters Apps From Other Publishers
The developer’s site carries a fraud notice: some websites copy the SmartersPro name, branding and content to mislead customers by offering IPTV subscriptions and packages. The notice asks users to make sure the website address starts with smarterspro.com. The pattern extends well beyond websites.
Store Listings Using the Name
The pattern is visible in the first page of US search results itself. The top Google Play result for IPTV Smarters is a listing called Smart TV Player: IPTV Smarters, the App Store result is Smarters IPTV Player, and the Microsoft Store result is IPTV Smarters Pro – Smart IPTV+, none of them from the developer. On Apple’s App Store, at least three more listings from other publishers use the name in some form. Smarters IPTV Pro is sold by SmartersPlayer LLC and describes a seven-day trial followed by device activation through an in-app purchase. Smarters IPTV Pro: Player comes from an individual developer and states it is a media player only. IPTV Smarters Player – PRO, from another individual developer, states that it has no free features. On Google Play, a listing titled IPTV Smarters Pro is published under a package unrelated to the developer’s apps, and on the Microsoft Store, a listing called Smarters IPTV Pro describes a one-week trial followed by device activation.
None of them is among the apps the developer’s website links to. Each is a different product from a different company, and nothing the developer states applies to them.
Websites Using Similar Smarters Branding
Search results for IPTV Smarters also include websites that describe themselves as official, offer downloads, and promote IPTV trials, and knowledge-base pages that say they were reviewed by an “IPTV Smarters Pro Team.” By the developer’s own fraud notice, a site that sells subscriptions under the Smarters name is not the developer, whatever it calls itself.
The legality of a media player and the legality of the content accessed through it are separate questions. The app, the playlist a viewer adds, the source behind that playlist and the rights to what it carries are four different things, and the removals described above were actions taken by rights holders in app stores, not a ruling on every use of the player. This site does not name, rank or recommend subscription services, for the reasons set out in our DMCA disclaimer.
Conclusion
IPTV Smarters is a player, and its developer says so plainly: no content, no subscriptions, and a premium tier that adds features rather than channels. The name has moved on. The original IPTV Smarters Pro listing was ordered off Google Play in 2022 and was reported among the apps removed again in 2026. The developer’s current app is Smarters Pro, published by Tech Smarters Private Limited, while older Samsung listings and Smarters Player Lite on the App Store are attributed to WHMCS Smarters. Their listings share text, but no public page reviewed here states how the two companies relate.
Around them sit many apps and websites that use the Smarters name without either company behind them. The publisher line, and the developer’s instruction to check it, settle which is which. How IPTV reaches a home in the first place is covered in our overview of how IPTV works in Maryland, and for how to check any player the same way, return to our guide to IPTV apps. Claims here are checked against primary sources where available, with secondary reporting named where it is the available record, as described on our About page; if the developer’s site or listings change, let us know.
